Our Day in Canyonlands National Park

I hope these panoramas turn out well … this is one of those places where it’s so hard to capture every stunning color and every beautiful landscape, but we did our best! Enjoy!

Time in Car: irrelevant, got to see cool stuff

America, Day 3

We are back in London, so our brains are a bit more scattered, and our hard drives full of photos are a little bit easier to bury under piles of dirty clothes and at least six boxes of Pop Tarts, but we soldier on!

Day 3 was a bit rough, but much more manageable than we originally thought. It was the first real day of our trip and therefore our first real taste of 15 hours on what seemed like the straightest road ever built. We crossed two entire states, and we ate some fried chicken at Popeye’s before crossing through the mountains.

Through storms and quiet blue skies, we took some pretty cool photos.

Tigers are cool…

Day 2: Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri

After breakfast at Panera in Lawrence (this is a recurring theme — pay attention), we drove to Kansas City, Missouri, to Oceans of Fun.

This is pretty standard fare for Kansas kids sweating their faces off during the summer, but it was Joe’s first water park!

Not too many awesome photos today — we were too busy swimming and getting stunningly tan. (Fingers crossed that the tan hangs around until November!)

Time to add the non-iPhone photos (we have a lot of these!)

(and still a few iPhone photos … we have a lot of those too!)

It’s time to add the photos we took on our cameras whilst we were out travelling the country! We’ll be doing it day by day, so hopefully it’ll spread the uploading out a little!

First up, Day 1, 26 August —
We travelled to see Lauren’s sister Stephanie for breakfast in Manhattan, walked around the Capitol building in Topeka, and then headed to Lawrence to meet one of Lauren’s professors for lunch (Hi Doug if you’re reading this!).

We then met Lauren’s sister Rachel for a walk around campus and then headed to dinner and drink with many of Lauren’s university friends. Despite all this action, we really have only limited photos from that day!

The trip… in full… on Google Maps.

So this is the full trip, start to finish. I haven’t included specific addresses (as it would take forever!) but it gives you some idea of the distances travelled and where we were for all the different parts of the trip.
